Nizozemský grafik a ilustrátor Menze Kwint poprvé v České republice.
The very first exhibition of graphic designer and illustrator Menze Kwint (NL) in the Czech Republic.

Nizozemský ilustrátor a grafik Menze Kwint (1986) se v pražské galerii Výtoň poprvé představí českému publiku s výstavou Greenhorn in the Czech republic. Mladý umělec úspěšně navazuje na tradici belgického a nizozemského komiksu. Kwint se prostřednictvím svých děl s humorným nadhledem snaží upozornit na současná á závažná témata a iniciovat dialog.

Podle kurátora výstavy název Greenhorn in the Czech Republic nevystihuje jen skutečnost, že Menze Kwint je v České republice „zelenáčem“, ale prozrazuje i její základní témata, která spojuje zelená barva - divoká příroda, vojenství a skauting. Klíčové je zejména téma divoké přírody, která je paradoxně v Kwintově rodné zemi vzácná.

Menze také spolupracuje na projektech s organizací zabývající se pomocí válečným veteránům REGI BASE (www.regibase.cz), pro něž vytvořil návrhy na charitativní trika. Ta budou rovněž v rámci výstavy představena.

Zahájení výstavy proběhne dne 20.12.2012 v 17.00 v galerii Výtoň (www.vyton.cz, vstup ze dvora Vyšehradská 3) za přítomnosti samotného autora a bude ji možné návštívit až do ledna 2013.

Výstava probíhá za mediální a finanční podpory Nizozemského velvyslanectví v Praze.

Dutch illustator and graphic designer Menze Kwint (1986) shows the first time his artwork in the Czech Republic within the exhibition Greenhorn in the Czech Republic. The young artist continues successfully in the tradition of Belgian and Dutch comics. Kwint endeavours to point to serious issues of our society and to initiate a dialogue. Therefore he takes advantage of comics art which can present serious theme in light way.

According to the curator the name Greenhorn in the Czech Republic covers not only the fact Menze Kwint is a greenhorn within Czech art scene but also basic topics of the exhibition. These topics or themes are in mutual connection with a \"leitmotif\" green colour - scouting, wild nature and army. The wild nature has a crucial role in his artwork, because of its uniqueness in the Netherlands.

Menze collaborates with REGI Base on projects which are focused on caring for Czech warriors. Therefore Menze designed a charity T-shirt specially for REGI Base. The T-shirt will be presented during the opening night.

The opening night is on 20.12. 2012 at 5 p.m. in the gallery Výtoň (www.vyton.cz) in the presence of the author. The exhibiton continues in January 2013.
